We are excited to see the County of Santa Clara and LifeMoves propose interim housing with on-site supportive services in Santa Clara at Benton Street and Lawrence Expressway. This is a significant, serious, and promising proposal that will be of vital service to our unhoused and unsheltered neighbors.
We encourage the Santa Clara County Board of Supervisors to lease the land and co-sponsor the Homekey application with LifeMoves. The project has overcome major obstacles and a grueling community input process to secure vital support from the City of Santa Clara. We call on the Board of Supervisors to honor the City’s process and move the project forward expeditiously, without further delay that would jeopardize its likelihood of success. Please act quickly and support this project in order to help make this important proposal a reality for our community as soon as possible.
